The British Competitors Dancesport Corporation (BCDC) provide the voice for British dancesport competitors, with a seat on the British Dance Council. You may not yet be a professional competitor but remember - you are the professionals of the future. It is the aim of our organisation to provide a voice for competitors at every level and to continue to raise the necessary funds to sustain our seats on the British Dance Council.
The BCDC is set up to ensure that all competing British dancers can discuss and communicate about key issues in the dancing world, and unite together under a single banner to provide the best conditions for competitors. As a competitor (or the parents of one) it is often difficult to understand, implement and manage events and decisions made by other bodies that impact on your career, The BCDC Executive Committee is made is made up of experienced professionals who give their time and expertise to work on behalf of members, keeping them up to date and informed and providing help and support when required.
Competitive dancesport can be an isolating experience, some countries benefit from the ‘Club system’ which provides a network of support to dancers at every level. The BCDC aims to bring British competitors together to enhance and maintain both individual development and competitive dancesport in Great Britain. As a member you can raise issues or ask for information from any of the committee or members. In addition you can benefit from workshops, training events and discounts from dance vendors. In 2014 a significant amount of work has been done to change the BCDC to represent and support all British Competitors and to provide a focus for a cohesive and effective ‘Team GB’, one that will support British dancers (and their families), provide a forum to enable them to voice their concerns and develop their own dancing as well as building a stronger foundation for the future of British dancing.
